Our Story

From the Beginning

Little Angels Childcare Academy (LACA) was established in the year 2016 as a non-profit corporation to meet the needs of families and caregivers in the Bristol Bay Borough by providing developmentally appropriate instruction and the highest quality of care for young children.

It was borne out of the dedication of a group of community parents and caregivers, in conjunction with Bristol Bay Borough School District, to meet a critical need for licensed and high quality childcare.

Designed with an abundance of collective creativity, skills and drive, this team volunteered as they formed partnerships with community members, business leaders, and organizations on the local, borough, state and national levels.  

The Bristol Bay Borough generously partnered with LACA to provide funding to ensure quality in the renovation and set-up stage of development. This funding made it possible for the community to craft an environment aligned with LACA’s belief that the environment acts as the “third teacher” and thus must be beautifully and creatively designed for the cultural, social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of this unique community’s young children.

LACA is founded on principles that will establish lifelong learning as each child is guided to his/her potential in each aspect of the child’s life.
